The Gallipoli Campaign was an attack on the Gallipoli peninsula during World War I, between 25 April 1915 and 9 January 1916.

On January 18th, the First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay in New South Wales. The Governor in charge of the fleet, Captain Arthur Philip, decided Botany Bay was not suitable for settlement.
