The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Located in Paris, France, it was constructed between 1887 and 1889 as the entrance arch for the 1889 Exposition Universelle, a world’s fair. The tower was designed by the engineer Gustave Eiffel, from whom it gets its name.
Standing at approximately 324 meters (1,063 feet) tall, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world until the completion of the Chrysler Building in New York in 1930. The tower has three levels for visitors, with restaurants on the first and second levels. The top level, which offers a spectacular view of Paris, is accessible by elevator.
The Eiffel Tower is made of iron and weighs around 10,000 tons. It has become a global cultural icon of France and is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. Each year, millions of tourists visit the Eiffel Tower to experience its breathtaking views and historical significance.
