E. Struktur Recount Text

Dalam recount text terbagi menjadi tiga struktur, yaitu orientation, events, dan reorientation. Berikut penjelasan struktur recount text:

Orientation atau Pembukaan

Orientation adalah bagian pembuka yang memberikan gambaran umum tentang cerita. Di sini, penulis memperkenalkan who (siapa yang terlibat), when (kapan peristiwa terjadi), where (di mana peristiwa berlangsung), dan what (apa yang terjadi).

Orientation menjadi bagian yang penting untuk memberikan konteks sehingga pembaca bisa langsung memahami situasi awal.

Contoh:
Last month, I had an unforgettable experience. I participated in a marathon event held at Prambanan Temple for the first time in my life. It was a sunny Sunday morning, and the majestic temple complex made the perfect backdrop for the race………

Events atau Peristiwa

Struktur selanjutnya adalah events yang menjelaskan detail dari peristiwa atau pengalaman secara kronologis. Di sini, cerita berkembang dengan menceritakan apa saja yang terjadi, bagaimana kejadian itu berlangsung, tantangan yang dihadapi, serta momen-momen berkesan yang terjadi.

Events terdiri dari lebih dari satu paragraf untuk memastikan alur cerita tersampaikan dengan lengkap. Kata-kata penghubung seperti then, after that, next, dan finally digunakan untuk menjaga alur waktu.

Contoh:
The race started at 6 a.m., and everyone gathered at the starting line with excitement. After that, when the whistle blew, hundreds of runners began their journey….

Reorientation atau Penutup

Reorientation adalah bagian penutup yang memberikan kesan, refleksi, atau kesimpulan dari cerita yang telah diceritakan.

Penulis menyampaikan perasaan setelah melalui pengalaman tersebut atau pelajaran yang bisa diambil pada bagian ini.

Contoh:

Orientation
